Slovenia doesn't come free

With the permission from Tash the following was written for her Pozible account where Tash is raising funds needed to send her off with the Women's National team to Slovenia in March this year. In addition to this Tash is also holding a fundraising event on Friday 2nd March at the Squatters Arms hotel.

TASH'S BASH FOR CASH where Tash's own band 50 Cycle Hum will be performing with an Australian jersey and other great prizes being raffled on the night.

Hi! I'm Tash Farrier,

I am 22 years old and live in Adelaide Australia. I play Ice Hockey for the Australian Open Women's Team. I've represented my country for the last 6 years. As well as travelling the World and experiencing various Countries and cultures through playing on the National Team, I have also lived in Canada playing College hockey for the ACAC Cougars and studying at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. Locally, I have played for the Adelaide Adrenaline Ice Hockey team for the last 7 years apart from 2006 and 2010 due to individual hockey development in Canada.

Being a female athlete for a sport which is not highly recognized in this country i am a self funded but proud Australian athlete. In March this year (2012) the Australian National Team is heading to Europe on an endeavour to win gold in the IIHF World Championships Div III. The team will be heading to Italy on March 16th to acclimatize and prepare for the upcoming tournament in Slovenia. I am immensely honoured to represent my country however the cost ranges from $4000-$6000 for each yearly trip. This year I am returning to university, so the incorporation of study, working for living expenses along with following a strict training regime leaves little time to raise the funds that i require. My aim is to reach $1500. The donations that I receive through my pozible will be put directly to my trip expenses to minimize the overall amount.

Hockey is a huge part of my life and has been for the majority of my years so far. I feel that it has helped build the foundation of my personal qualities and allowed me to experience a lot of life learning lessons. I have had the opportunity to travel to other countries such as South Africa, Japan, England, Canada & Finland with the Australian Team. I believe it has helped me to obtain an open mind and willingness to embrace every individual person that I meet. Every World Championships played I feel that I grow as a person and a player.Thank you for taking the time to read my campaign and thank you in advance for any forthcoming support.
